LET’S BREAK IT DOWN:

Two Weeks of Your ATTN Please!

We’ve made it through 2 full weeks of producing daily newsletters! Although it’s been hectic, we’re getting closer to nailing down our process.
So what went well?
Our open rate has stayed pretty high. Although it's dropped from 50% to 45% this week, it's still decent.
We've had lots of good feedback about the newsletter. Our team's had people reach out to them on socials and IRL to say how much they're enjoying it so far.
What could have gone better?
We're still getting our process down. This week, we've been much better about sticking to our daily deadlines. We did run into a few delays but managed to get all the newsletters out on time.
We need to work on making the segments more engaging. People are opening the emails, but we want to make sure the content is really what they want to read.
As our team is still figuring out how to write for the newsletter, Charlotte is learning how to give helpful briefs and feedback. Our team still needs to get better at communicating if pieces are going to be delayed so everyone is aware of what's going on.
This week we also confused our audience on Instagram and TikTok by asking them to refer people to the newsletter. It didn't take long to realise we should have just asked them to subscribe instead. Seeing their confusion reminded us that we need to stop jumping ahead and just ask for one thing at a time.
Help Us With the YAP Podcast (please)

This week, Stan and Jony spent a ton of time talking about the power of on-screen text. They also watched A LOT of pet-tok.
So what went well?
What could have gone better?
We'd like to start giving our viewers a practical takeaway each episode rather than just dissecting viral videos.
We are constantly figuring out logistics. There may be some mechanics we want to add to make the podcast even better (maybe a livestream of YAP for live questioning)!
This week we’ve realised that we haven't asked YOU how to make this podcast better. Let us know what you want out of it and what content-related questions you want answered. This email takes replies!!!
30 TikToks in a Week

If you follow us on any of our socials you would have noticed that we started posting consistently again.
The focus at the moment isn’t to worry about quality. For now, we’re working on quantity and building out our content system.
So what went well?
Producing 30 short form videos in a week isn’t easy, but not for the reason you think. It isn’t because of the lack of ideas. It’s mostly down to the struggle of taking the first step. Even as a team who does this for a living, we struggle with getting the fly wheel spinning. So, putting these videos out was a huge win to help us build momentum.
What could have gone better?
We forgot that Stanley and Jony’s relationship is responsible for the majority of our content. We need to prioritise that storyline rather than just posting random videos.
Our trend content only worked when it was supporting a strong storyline. Otherwise it didn’t get the views we wanted.
This week has really highlighted the importance of having a niche on TikTok, especially with the recent algo change. We’ve strayed from our boss vs. employee storyline and we need to bring our content back to this.
All in all, we’re stoked we got this content machine back up and running. With a consistent effort over the next few weeks, we know we’ll be able to build back our momentum and chase down that elusive one million follower target.
Wrapping Up 1 Month of Daily LinkedIn Posts

In February, Stanley set the team a TAS 30-Day LinkedIn challenge. Overall, we got 576,000 impressions over the whole month (so sick!!!)
So what went well?
Most of the team actually did the whole challenge. Even those of us who didn't post every day still did about 80%.
What could have gone better?
Everyone's reach dropped over the last week due to some algorithm changes on LinkedIn.
We ended up posting about random things rather than having a consistent strategy.
All in all, it as a pretty good month of posting in terms of volume and consistency. Since this was the point of the challenge, we count that as a win.
Moving forward, we need to refine our approach. We’re talking about creating a system where we all answer the same question in our posts so we don’t get stuck for ideas. And, who knows? Maybe, we'll even share those questions with you all for your own content!
TAS IRL

As much as we try to capture all our shenanigans for your entertainment, sometimes cool sh*t happens offline.
Here's what's gone down at TAS IRL this week:
We took an American to watch rugby league. Cam, our NY-based editor, joined Tyla, Stan and intern Carter for his first Warriors game. Naturally, he had no idea what was going on! Thankfully, Carter (the Wah’s biggest fan ever) was there to help. To top it off, we collabed with our mate @dazzas_cooked to create some awesome content.
Chey, Stan’s EA, turned 7. Stan’s right-hand woman and leap day baby celebrated her birthday on the 29th. With a birthday only every four years, she’s officially 7 years old! Of course, the office went all out and fruit cake was consumed by all.
Laura, our new social media coordinator, landed in the office. She shadowed Stan all week which was A LOT. Let’s hope she shows up for work again on Monday.

Got FOMO?
Listen to our YAP Podcast Tuesday - Saturday, where Stan & Jony break down the videos that are blowing up on social media. Not only will you learn why they work, but we’ll tell you how to capitalise on these trends before they disappear.
