There's a newbie hanging around 👀
There's another sidekick in our internal team and I'm PUMPED. Welcome to the team, ABDEL! Now here's everything Abdel needs to help us implement from Monday....
We tried LinkedIn ads... Success? I think?
Better flows in YAP Podcast BUT people are openly hating on the podcast LOL.
Heaps of learnings over on our TikTok - I still have a bunch more to post to reach our weekly 50. yikes.
LinkedIn is back on track.
There's more than a job for Abdel. We're looking for 3 more account managers!!!!
I'm obviously stressed about one thing right now - reaching 50 TikToks for the week. My fault I only posted 7 from Monday - Thursday oops. Wish me luck!
See you next week (-:

LET’S BREAK IT DOWN:

Your ATTN Please

After making some tweaks to our case study format, we've moved on to improving our pop culture section. And it's definitely moving in the right direction!
So what went well?
We've been working on getting our pop culture section to be less case study-ish and more practical. This week, we got a lot closer to where we want to be.
Our team also put out some LI ads promoting the newsletter. We've started getting subs from them already which is really cool!
We're also working on some ads for TikTok and YouTube. The scripts are ready to go so now we just need to produce them.
What could have gone better?
This week, we had a few really low open rate days. I'm working on improving my subject lines and will keep testing different styles.
We've learnt that LinkedIn ads cost a lot per sub. But the good news is they do work!
We're also learning to look at the big picture rather than getting too hung up on a few low open days. As long as we keep getting our reps in, we will continuously improve.

YAP Podcast

After cutting fruit on our podcast to try gain viewership - Our viewership has definitely grown! Not because of the fruits.... That was actually a fail....
So what went well?
The briefs continue to get better and the discussion around creators is starting to find its groove.
We're finding loyal viewers on our LIVE and are getting more and more questions come through.
Annelise subbed for Stanley and it was a success!
Abdel has learnt how to incorporate LIVE studio and we’ll be implementing that soon.
What could have gone better?
A lot of feedback telling us they understand why we have low viewership 💀
We said we'd implement a sponsored read from Your Attention Please.... We didn't lol.
We said we would use the newsletter as a basis for the podcast but, we swung a completely different direction this week talking a lot more about creators. We think stating the newsletter's headlines may be a better approach rather than discussing whole newsletter segments.
People aren't afraid to let us know they think we're boring BUT we aren't making this for virality. We're doing it for a concentrated, dedicated daily audience and all the goodness that comes from consistency.

TAS Shortform Video Storylines

This week we launched a new storyline and reintroduced Leish as a character to our TikTok audience. As Leish is the office aunty you can probably guess the storyline was around keeping the office clean and tidy.
So what went well?
Soon after launching the storyline we realised it wasn’t quite right. So we had to go back to the drawing board and pivot our idea. This was a good example of thinking on our feet and being agile in our storyline process.
Although we didn’t go viral this week, our viewership was higher because of our storyline-driven content. We essentially just proved ourselves right here. It’s what we do best and it’s what our audience wants to see.
What could have gone better?
The storyline had to stop mid-way. We always try to base our storylines around real challenges the team is facing in the office. It’s much easier to create content without needing to manufacture a conflict. However, the conflict selected this week hit a little too close to home. Essentially Leish’s frustration toward the team is a wound, not a scar. We’re still working through this challenge as a team. It didn’t make sit right with us to manufacture a happy ending on TikTok.
It’s Friday morning as I type this and we’ve posted 9 TikToks this week. To reach our 50 video goal for the week we’re going to have to post like crazy across the next two days. Sorry about the incoming spam.
Wounds, not scars, has been our biggest takeaway of the week. We never want our team to feel as though we’re using their unresolved challenges for content. It just doesn’t sit right. When we say we want our content to revolve around real challenges, we need to focus on high-level relatable challenges, rather than unsolved challenges we’re struggling to get through as a team.
Lastly, keep your message simple. The meaning gets lost when you add too much bullsh*t.

Do We Love or Hate LinkedIn This Week?

We're getting traction babyyyyyy.🥳 The team is doubling down on resources on testing for LinkedIn and we're making significant progress around figuring out what we need to be better.
So what went well?
The TAS research queen, Vanessa, is cracking down on LinkedIn. V is working closely with our Head of Copy, Char on pivoting the content across all our clients on LinkedIn. V is doing some amazing work when it comes to SEO research and we're excited for the rollout across our LinkedIn copy.
We're putting in the reps we need with carousel-style content. We tried out some cool styles on Stanley's LinkedIn. And, with each carousel, we reckon we're closer to cracking it.
Personal brand rollout is underway. The internal brand team is working on booking personal brand strategy sessions with our team.
What could have gone better?
Progress on the new TAS LinkedIn strategy and our Team personal brand roll out is a little slower than we'd like. But, that's just because we have an internal restructuring underway which you'll see in the TAS IRL (So, keep scrolling because it's exciting news for the team here at TAS).👀
We’ve learnt that numbers always do well on headlines. Every posts that Stan posted with a number for a headline in the last month has reached >10,000 in impressions.
We've also learnt who Stan's audience is, which has helped us heaps. But, in doing that, we've realised that we need to figure out who TAS's LinkedIn audience is.
-Mel, Community Management Lead
TAS IRL

As much as we try to capture all our shenanigans for your entertainment, sometimes cool sh*t happens offline.
Here's what's gone down at TAS IRL this week:
Abdel got hired! Abdel has been interning here for the last 9 weeks, and is so good at what he does that he's basically made himself irreplaceable. We're super excited to welcome him to the team ♡
Mel celebrated one year at TAS. Over the last year, Mel has developed the community management team LEAPS AND BOUNDS from what it was when she started (which was practically non-existent.) We can’t wait to see what else she does during her time here.
Our Marketing Girlies went to a Marketing Girlies event. On Wednesday, some of our girls went to Women On Track - a marketing event hosted by Tracksuit. After huddling by the food for the first 5 minutes, they managed to spread out and get some killer networking done.
We are on the hunt for THREE account managers AND a copywriter. New clients, new growth, and a little bit of a restructure means TAS is on the HUNT for some new team members, and fast. So hit our line if you think you know (or are) the perfect candidate.
Leish is going to Bali and we don't know how we're going to survive. Also known as our office aunty, Leish always knows everything that's going on at any given moment. It's going to be an... interesting two weeks to say the least.
-Sophie, Pop Culture Queen
