Jony's Wrap-Up || Saturday, 18 May

Practicing what we preach…
The results of the changes we keep speaking about are out! Let's see how our changes have performed this week 👀
Here's what went down:
Our ads are puttin' in WERK. Paid does work 😯
Abdel took over YAP while I got my wisdom teeth removed. Go have a listen!
Our SFV is doing numbers and I can't wait to up the ante 😈
LinkedIn isn't loving our memes 💔
Events galore - the TAS team has been apart of some cool events gone and upcoming.
I feel like we're at the bottom of some uphill growth and can't wait to see our progress in the next couple of weeks. Let's see how we do! Ciao for now (^:

Our subscriber growth has really picked up--looks like the Meta and LinkedIn ads are working!
This week, we learnt:
As a team, we're learning how to balance the big picture direction and growth alongside refining the finer details as we go.
There's so much room to build on what we're doing, so it can feel like we're not making as much progress as we actually are. It's only when we zoom out and see how far we've come that we realise we are doing a lot!

Abdel filled in for Jony this whole week. We also started going live again on our TAS TikTok account so viewers could get their questions answered in the last 5-10 minutes.
This week, we learnt:
A drawback of having one newsletter topic carry over multiple days is it can be hard to keep the conversation interesting.
When we ran out of stuff to talk about, we started incorporating the trend plug into the podcast, which worked well.

TAS Shortform Video Storylines

We launched a new storyline on TikTok. After a 3 week break from posting, we needed the stakes to be HIGH, and that they are. Stan and Carter filled in for Jony on Instagram, pouring buckets of water on their heads.
This week, we learnt:
Presentation videos will always be winners. Our best-performing storylines always commence with a presentation. So we learnt presentation videos continue to be the best way to reengage our audience.
We realised our Instagram strategy doesn’t solely rely on Jony. Stan and Carter jumped in as the audience requested, and Stanley’s video outperformed a few of Jony’s. Next week we’ll be tweaking these videos slightly to give new audiences more of a reason to follow along.
Our best performing video on TikTok: Jony's extreme bet with Stan
Our best performing video on IG: Day 7 of proving to my boss a bucket of water is better than his "marketing strategy"
Stan's best performing video: Stansplaining clip featuring Hercules

We're doing all kinds of testing on our TAS LI to find out what content performs best. Memes, carousels, and client videos--you're about to see it all.
This week, we learnt:
Don't fix what ain't broke. This week, Stan and I talked about whether we want to make any changes to his LI strategy. As much as we like to question and change things constantly, the posts about what's happening in the business are doing well. Now we want to start pairing those posts with more in-the-moment photos.
As we've been testing content styles on TAS LI, the memes haven't done as well as team posts but they do better than video posts. Looks like more experimenting is on the horizon (big surprise there)!

Our favourite team post of the week (from Nate): I got a new job

TAS IRL

As much as we try to capture all our shenanigans for your entertainment, sometimes cool sh*t happens offline.
Here's what's gone down at TAS IRL this week:
We hosted a Pink Shirt Day Breakfast. Yesterday morning, we hosted a Pink Shirt Day Breakfast run by The Marketing Club! We started with a 10-minute breath work session, followed by some tasty food.
We went to Nate's for housewarming. Our beloved brit Nathan moved in to a new place and had us all over for a couple Sawmills, snacks and multiple rounds of Mortal Kombat! Thanks for letting us kids into your lovely home Nate ♡. Wholesome vibes all round!
We had a mid-managers training session with Deb, our business coach. The lovely Deb has been helping our leadership team become absolute pros for the last few years now, and this session was no different! We ran through leadership principles, talked about how to be better managers, and even did a quiz.
Stan's getting ready to speak at Digital Day Out. On July 2nd, Stan will be speaking at Digital Day Out hosted at Aotea Centre. This will be Stan's second year speaking at the prestigious event, with over 500 marketers attending, to discuss marketing trends, topics, channels and tech that's revolutionising the industry.
