Jony's Saturday Wrap-Up || Saturday, 30 March

It's been a rocking week trying to fit in all the work in 4 days.
BUT we made it to a long weekend. THANK FUARK.
Here's what went down:
The pressure was on—these newsletters weren't gonna write themselves! We got to pumping out as many as we could so we can continue to show up for y'all.
Another round of changes to YAP Podcast (what did you expect?)
We've realigned TAS strategy and can't wait to move forward with our content.
LinkedIn is still posing some challenges....
AND our team is up to some BANGING shit. How did I find a team so cool?
Enjoy your chocolates and long weekend! I will be sleeping for the next 4 days. Ciao for now!!!!

LET’S BREAK IT DOWN:

Your ATTN Please

This week we were scrambling to get ahead before the long weekend. Thankfully, we stayed on top of everything and can now take a few days off!
So what went well?
We smashed out 8 newsletters in 4 days! I thought it was going to be harder than it was, actually. Either way, now I'm ready to put my feet up for a bit.
What could have gone better?
Our new subs and open rates have gone down a bit. I'm not super worried at this point, but I am keeping a close eye on our stats.
I was time poor. If I wasn't so pressed for time, I would have spent a bit more time giving feedback to the contributing writers. But my priority was to just get everything done, even if it wasn't 100% perfect.
This week, our system was put to the test as we had to do 2 newsletters a day instead of one. We learnt that our systems are pretty good because we managed to get it all done.
We also learned that we need a better strategy for continuing to grow our susbscribers. This is now in the works so stay tuned!

YAP Podcast

Celebrating each week as it comes. The 8am starts were TOUGH this week BUT we got through it!!! Long weekend and sleep ins here I COME!!!
So what went well?
We've changed our structure from 3 viral video breakdowns to a singular creator breakdown.
This has lead to much more rounded out concepts and better takeaways for our viewers...we think?
Our Live audience continues to be engaged and provides some fun in the midst of our shpiels.
What could have gone better?
The briefs for the creator breakdowns need to start having a structure so there’s a better flow for the podcast.
Our Live is still banned on the TAS account.... It's ok because we will be back next week!
This week, we learnt that we’re much better at giving better insights based on a singular focus. Annnnddd we also learnt—be careful what you say on TikTok Live - they are much more sensitive than any other platforms! You might get a week ban 👀

TAS Shortform Video

50 TikToks each week are being churned out but, at what cost? We looked at our wins and losses so far with this quantity approach.
So what went well?
After a bunch of flops, we've found our feet a little.
We learnt from the volume of content what continues to outperform.... Boss vs. employee dynamics.
What could have gone better?
The majority of our content didn't fit our niche of office hierarchy. This made for a lot of flops.
The short week meant less time for creating - which meant a bunch of ass content has gone out just to reach the 50 TikTok target.....
This week, we learnt that our best performing content always has a hierarchy dynamic - boss vs. employee/ employee vs. manager/staff vs. the business etc.
Also, we shouldn't have to put out bad content to reach the quantity deliverable. On our way to make a better system so that we have ourselves covered!

This has been a tricky one for us to crack. And, quite frankly, we haven't had much progress on it just yet.
So what went well?
We talked a lot about trying to get the team more involved on the platform. And, I feel like this morning we had a little bit of a breakthrough as a team and managed to get everyone on board. This is quite exciting for the future of the brand as a whole.
We trialled out introducing Stan's advise talking heads on LinkedIn and we're seeing a little more engagement on posts overall. While it was more so of a test to see who our audience currently is, it's been getting quite a fair bit of commentary which helps with producing more of this style of content.
We've also managed to get the ball rolling more on ideas that we've been wanting to test, like the carousels.
What could have gone better?
With the recent algorithm changes and the need to pivot our approach, I think we're at a point where it's unclear to us what topics actually resonated with our audience. Patience is key here, I guess. We'll have a better idea in time who our audience is.
Overall, we've learned that we need to keep testing to get a better gauge of who we are talking to. The brand has evolved and we need to be aligned with that change.
We also made significant headway in identifying roadblocks for the team to participate and making sure that we create an environment where it’s easy for the team to post regularly.

TAS IRL

As much as we try to capture all our shenanigans for your entertainment, sometimes cool sh*t happens offline.
Here's what's gone down at TAS IRL this week:
The first ever Dating Void Rehearsal. It's official—we're producing a dating show. Well, it already was official but now it feels REAL. Last night we hosted our first rehearsal ever and ironed out logistics, set up, and briefed our creative team. I'm so f*cking excited and feel lucky to work with a bunch of legends.
A magician came into the office. Stan's guest on Stansplaining this week was Aimon Kong. He hypnotized Stan and gave the team a lil show. Honestly, it was kinda scary how good he was. Keep an eye out for that episode of Stansplaining coming in a couple of weeks.
The Marketing Club girlies + Stan killed it. I told you I'd update you on how their speeches went and I'm happy to report they killed it. Duh, we expected nothing less. Mel gave an extraordinary speech on community management and Jony shared all her short-form genius. Expect to see snippets of these speeches on our LinkedIn very soon. Stan was awesome as usual, we're grateful for a leader who always paves the way.
