Jony's Wrap-up || Saturday, 27 April

We're changing tack... EVERYWHERE.

That's nothing new. It's terrifying and feels stressful but, I think we're playing it out to be crazier than it truly is (that's what I'm telling myself at least)

Here's what went down:

  • Change in the newsletter, shortform storyline and LinkedIn. So FUN. SO YAY. BUT ALL FOR THE BETTER.

  • Stan and Leish have gone abroad and we're surprised that we're still alive. lol.

  • This newsletter’s going to be all about SHOW instead of TELL from now on. So we’ll tell you what we’ve learnt then show you our best performing content for the week.

Have a f*cking fabulous weekend. I bid you adieu.

Your ATTN Please

We're transitioning Your ATTN Please away from TAS. This means we're revamping each section and changing almost everything about the newsletter.

This week, we learnt:

  • Don't be afraid to change tack. We spent 2 months creating this newsletter then flipped it all on its head overnight.

  • After being convinced we'd grow our subs from our socials, we decided to try running ads instead. And it's been the best thing we've done to accelerate our growth.

YAP Podcast

The overarching theme of the creators we looked at this week was their style consistency. The same messages being pushed over a long period of time creates loyalty.

This week, we learnt:

  • Different to our own tactics on our socials, there's opportunity to grow in niche spaces rather than just throwing everything and anything at a wall.

  • The more you get in front of people, the more loyalty you have. A small following with strong loyalty is more valuable than a large following with weak loyalty.

TAS Shortform Video Storylines

We're moving away from a quantity approach to a quality approach and it’s petrifying....

This week, we learnt:

  • Change is scary. I have gotten so used to working towards 50 TikToks in a week, with quality at the back of my mind. Now we're switching to quality and I have my konsurnz about my ability.

  • Change is gradual. We can't expect change overnight. All we can do is start to take steps in the right direction and let momentum push us across the line.

LinkedIn

After overthinking LinkedIn for a month or so, we are now going back to basics--talking about what's going on right now in the business.

This week, we learnt:

  • (Ghost)writing good posts for LinkedIn comes down to knowing the right questions to ask. When writing for Stan, his initial answer to my question isn't always the post. Many times, it's something within that answer that takes the post down a different track.

  • It’s important to balance the perspective of being an expert and being someone who's still learning. It's ok to go back and forth between the two.

TAS IRL

As much as we try to capture all our shenanigans for your entertainment, sometimes cool sh*t happens offline.

Here's what's gone down at TAS IRL this week:

  • Abdel had his first week as a paid employee rather than an intern (and he slayed it).

  • Stan went to the Gold Coast for a writer's retreat.

  • Leish is in Bali (I'm surprised we're still alive, tbh!)

  • WE'RE STILL HIRING so if you're looking for a job, hit us up.
