4 Trends for 2025 (according to Pinterest)

At the end of every year, Pinterest predicts what trends will shape the next year. Unlike TikTok trends that can be fleeting, Pinterest’s trends are rooted in user intent, offering brands the opportunity to create campaigns around what users are searching for right now.
So, Spotify Wrapped was a bust.
But not all hope is lost when it comes to end of year reports from our faves.
If you’re a marketer, a creator, or someone who just likes to know what’s cool before it’s cool, you need to know about Pinterest Predicts.
Every year, Pinterest drops its crystal ball of a report, using search data from September 2022 to August 2024 to predict the trends that will dominate in 2025.
And it’s not just a vibe check—they’ve got the receipts. Around 80% of their predictions for 2023 actually came true, which is more than we can say for most of our New Year’s resolutions.
Yes, I’m speaking from anecdotal experience. No, I’m not sorry.
So, what does Pinterest think we’ll be obsessed with in 2025?
And why does a platform with so much cultural sway often get overshadowed by its TikTok and Insta counterparts?
(My Personal Picks of) The Top Trends of 2025
Pinterest Predicts covers a lot of ground—fashion, wellness, home decor, food, even hobbies you didn’t know you needed. Here are a few trends that jumped out this year:
'Dark, sweet and such a vibe.'
According to the platform, Gen Z and Millennials will infuse the sultry colour into everything from makeup to menus and mood boards.
The search 'Cherry vibe' was up +325%, 'Cherry bedroom' +100%, and 'Dark cherry red' +235%.
Pinterest says: tart will have your heart in 2025.
'From first light to moonlight.'
Basically, my whole aesthetic in a trend. Which is kind of annoying when I love to gate keep, but here we are.
In 2025, Gen Z and Millennials will dive head first into sultry siren makeup and wet hair looks.
Searches for 'Dark siren make-up' are up +695%, 'Wavy wet hair look' +80% and 'Sea-inspired nails' +65%.
This is so much more than seashells and starfish. Move aside, Ariel.
3. Aura Beauty.
'The year of the makeup mood ring.'
Gen Z and Boomers (??) are allegedly driving the alluring aesthetic, zeroing in on high hues from chin to cheek.
Searches for 'Golden aura' were up +75%, 'Full-colour makeup eyes' +365%, and 'New-wave makeup' +410%.
From trippy nails to sparkly eyes, Pinterest says you’ll be dipped in vibes all day long.
4. Pickle-Fix
'This year will be absolutely dill-icious.'
Gen X and Millennials are said to be all in on the pickle trend. From cakes to fries and even pickle margaritas (yum!)
'Pickle margarita' +100%, 'Fried pickle dip' +80% and 'Pickle de gallo' +65%
Pinterest predicts the oh-so-humble-gherkin is about to be in absolutely everything, a trend I welcome with arms (and mouth) wide open.
Why Pinterest hits different.
Here’s the thing: Pinterest isn’t about fleeting virality or meme culture. It’s about intentional discovery.
While platforms like TikTok are where trends are born (and sometimes die within a week), Pinterest is where those trends take root. Users don’t passively scroll; they actively search, plan, and pin.
That makes Pinterest trends more reliable because they’re based on intent rather than impulse.
If someone’s searching for 'Neo-Nostalgia decor ideas,' they’re probably redoing their living room, not just liking a video they’ll forget in two seconds.
Pinterest’s 522 million monthly active users aren’t just trend-chasers—they’re trendsetters. And because 8 out of 10 Pinterest users say the platform helps them find new products, it’s a goldmine for brands looking to introduce their next big thing.
How brands can leverage Pinterest Predicts:
Beacause this platform is not just a teen angst mood board. It’s a marketing superpower.
From plans to purchases, the trends will shape your audiences’ decisions in 2025. Get ahead of where they’re going and turn them into marketing opportunities.
1. Create trend-led campaigns
Use the predictions to guide your content and product launches. For example, if 'Slow Luxe' is trending, a clothing brand might spotlight its capsule collections or host workshops on sustainable styling.
2. Boost your visual SEO
Pinterest is a search engine. So optimise your pins with trend-specific keywords. Use tags like 'Neo-nostalgia decor' or 'Slow luxe fashion' to make your content discoverable as these trends gain traction.
3. Partner with creators
Pinterest creators are masters of making trends tangible. Collaborate with influencers who align with predicted trends to co-create authentic, shareable content that speaks directly to your target audience.
What makes Pinterest special is its aspirational, evergreen nature.
People come to Pinterest when they’re ready—ready to plan their wedding, redecorate their house, or revamp their wardrobe. That intentionality sets it apart from other platforms where content often feels fleeting or disposable.
By predicting trends, Pinterest isn’t just reflecting culture; it’s shaping it. These aren’t just fleeting moments of interest—they’re the blueprints for what people will actually buy, wear, and do in the years ahead.
If Pinterest has taught us anything, it’s that the future belongs to those who plan for it.
Whether you’re a marketer, a small business owner, or just someone who loves to stay ahead of the curve, Pinterest Predicts is your cheat sheet for 2025.
And hey, if you’re feeling overwhelmed by all this, just remember: somewhere out there, someone is still Googling 'how to use Pinterest.'
So in that respect, you’re already way ahead of the game 😉
